3 Ways To Become A Better Photographer
This is not about cameras or Photoshop

- Focus on building your career. This is obvious, but not for many. Many photographers follow the passion path (which is not wrong) and cannot monetize their work. Another mistake I see being made under the sun daily is this; photographers thinking it’s all about producing the right image. No, bro. No sis. If this is going to be a business, treat is like one. Focus on how to make more money and that is not only by producing quality images. What we mostly neglect after building our portfolio, having an online audience is refusing to network. My next article should be about networking (building meaningful relationships). What do you say?
- Focus on assets and fewer liabilities. How? Don’t buy what you don’t need, rent them if the need arises. If you will not be using something on the regular, you shouldn’t have it in your kit bag. If you own a great camera (DSLR) you do not have to purchase the latest (mirrorless). You don’t need it and you don’t have to flex.
- Save. Focus on assets this is investing. When you focus on things that do not bring liability to you as a photographer, you’ll be ready. Why? Because you can save. Buy quality, save more. Learn about money, learn about saving, investing and anything that can double or triple your income. I’m learning this now myself on Twitter, YouTube, Podcasts, etc. Name it, I’m learning. I’m going to be sharing the value I get on this blog.
