5 Common Mistakes Photographers Fail To Avoid
Both Beginners and Pros
I’m going straight to the point and not beating around the bush. This is not a 500paged book. It’s an article. And O, soon I’m going to be publishing a book on overcoming addiction as a Christian. That was just, by the way, now, let’s get into it.
- Playing it solo. Photographers, just because you were born alone does not mean you do everything alone. Most businesses fail because they want to go alone.
It is said that if you want to go fast go alone, but if you want to go far, go with another.
What do you want to choose; go alone or with another? We all need a support system. Nobody is successful alone. There’s always somebody or a team in the background.

2. Avoid competition. Why are you avoiding competition in the first place? Because you’re not competent? Think about it.
Where there is much competition it is because there is much money. Where there is less competition, there is less money.
3. Check up on your clients. Your clients are not just some money-making machines for you. Make them feel that they belong. Make them a part of you. Occasionally reach out to them. Wish them happy birthdays, anniversaries, Christmas, whatever it is, keep in touch with them. Let them know you exist. Don’t lose them.
4. Be flexible! This one is serious. Kill your ego and switch niches if and when it’s not working. Not all niches sell, that’s the hard truth. If you want to survive, think like a survivor.
5. Monetize early. Most of us did not monetize early and that was our mistake. We kept doing free work and kept on building a portfolio forever. If you are good enough, start charging for your services. Don’t wait, go hard.
