Art Is A Process
“Quality is not an act, it’s a habit.” — Aristotle
If you are confused about what you create and don’t know it’s art, read the article I shared yesterday. Now, good morning!
Today, I’m going to be taking an excerpt from my book, Reclaim Your Creativity: The Breakthrough Process.
Everything that can be seen and felt went through some process to be created, be it a pencil, phone or computer, or even a business. Anything that has a name and exists went through the process of creation to be, including the professional — the creator. No one was born a professional. You go through a process called training to become a pro. What we come to realize is that everyone needs art, even if they do not realize it.
A good story goes through a format to have a successful write up. Typically, a story goes through four processes to arrive at a finish. It should have a beginning, character introduction, plot and a climax.
The beginning is where the writer hooks the reader and captures their attention. Character introduction hooks readers into the characters present in a story, just like in movies. If there are no robust characters, the movie looks boring. The plot whirls around the events that occur and then the climax, which is also the conclusion of the story.
This process helps a person to write a great story and without them, you will surely write something, but not a good story.
Every artist goes through a process to create a beautiful work even if it is just clicking the shutter button on a camera. The process is where all the fun is. If you do not love the work you do, you’re certainly not going to enjoy the process of making.
The process is where the artist learns. Take the process of creating away from the artist and no art will exist, for in the process is an artist and art made.
Keep Learning. Keep Producing.
