How To Win At The Creators Game
Bryant started playing basketball when he was three, and the Lakers were his favorite team when he was growing up. When Bryant was six, his father retired from the NBA and moved his family to Rieti in Italy to continue playing professional basketball.
Think about this for a second. He started playing basketball when he was only 3 years of age and ever since has given his life to this sport. What has he won? He’s a 5× NBA champion, and so many awards as compared to a person who wasn’t diligent in this sport.
How do you win at the creators’ game? You’re a content creator, but how do you win this game? The answer to this is pretty simple. When you look throughout history, both men and women who became great gave their lives to a specific thing. Some dedicated their lives to end slavery, other to become best in a sport and there was a man who spent most of his time inventing a lightbulb.
How did this happen? The name of the game is consistency. What do you want to become? You wish to be the best content creator out there. Now, I want you to look at it from this perspective. To become the noun, you ought to do the verb. To become whatever great thing you want to be, you ought to put in the hard work. Stop listening to any guru who will take hard work out of the equation. That formula is non-existent.
You and I like to look at the results and we think it is easy. If it was, everyone would have done it. Share content daily. This is hard work, and it takes research. You don’t have to be the best in the room, you only have to know and be experienced more than one and teach the person who doesn’t know what you do.
Consistent engagement. You’re connecting with people all over the world on the internet, if you do not communicate to another, you’re going to lose the game. It’s not a one man show, it’s a show where you speak to lots of different people by bringing them value. Stop looking at the results of other people and ask the HOW they did it. How they developed a strong work ethic.
Celebrate the small wins. Write them down. They should mean a lot to you. It’s progress. A brick a day is what builds an empire. If the trojans come to destroy it, you rebuild. Have a thick skin and you’ll get to be the noun you’ve always wanted to be some day. See you at the finish line if there’s one.
