We Are All In The Service Business

Have you ever thought of yourself in the service business? If not, let me tell you, you're in the service business. Well, I sell products. Right, but you’re providing a service.

Service: the action of helping or doing work for someone.

Have you ever helped someone? You sell coffee. What do you do? You help busy people save time by purchasing from you. That person is paying you for your service.

Most times, we think of a service as a thing of charity; giving money to beggars, or travelling to 3rd world countries to feed the less privileged with food and water. Great, and it ought to be done. We ought to help people because it’s the right thing to do. But service is more than that — it’s more than feeding the poor. It’s also about making people feel good about themselves and also making people improve. Now, this is where most creators face a blockade. They fear selling, they think they ought to give it out for free if indeed they want to help people.

Let me ask you a quick question. Why did you or do you take your education seriously? You do so because it’s expensive. As an African child, I heard this every day, and I heard it 7 times more if I did not open my books to read. my mother will always say, I didn’t take you to school to go and play. I’m paying your fees so you become a better person in the future. My mom thinks school is valuable because she’s paying for it here.

Another. How many times do you take a thing seriously if you do not pay for it? Rarely! Have your friends ever gifted you books? How many times have you read them? Have you ever bought a book with your hard-earned income? Did you read it? The probability of you reading this is higher compared to the book you were gifted.

Selling your service is a gift to the world. Don’t ever feel bad about selling your business. You’re helping people achieve their goals. Free is rarely appreciated. Trust yourself, now, trust this next sentence I’m going to write. People want to spend, they want to beg to spend on the things they want. Set a price and sell. Nobody is going to buy if you’re not selling.

Currently, I’m working on a book on marketing for photographers. Common folk language. Nothing magnificent, but it’s not going to be free. I shared a free pdf one time and nobody read it. Filled with immense value! Nobody cared. This time, people will care. Why? Because I’m going to put a price on it.

Oh, yes. It’s 2023, Happy New Year people! I’m glad you read my stuff here. I’ve been offline for so long. Now, I’m here and I hope to bring more value to you, creators and artists.
