This Is Why The Photographer Needs Testimonials
2 min readOct 31, 2022
Testimonials are one of the most important pieces of copy you can put on your website, landing page, sales letter, or any other kind of marketing communication. The reason for this is they give your audience that one final push to buy your product or service.
It’s that simple.
Testimonial: a formal statement testifying to someone’s character and qualifications.
Why are testimonials important? 3 Reasons
- Testimonials affirm our credibility and trust. If no one is praising your work, then who is going to hire you? Think about it for a second. Yes, you are told to praise yourself and to promote your work, but the work of the creator is not praised by the creator but by those who have benefited from it or him.
- Client Loyalty. You don’t have a client if they only worked with you once or twice. A client is one that you sustain. A person who keeps coming because they trust you and your services. How can a prospect trust your work? Through word of mouth! Yes! If everyone is talking about how great you are, people do not really need to see your portfolio, they trust their friends and if their friends say you’re great, then, you’re great. This is why you need testimonials.
- Learning Opportunity. Like I wrote in this article that “a testimonial isn’t always glamorous. Not all clients are going to be happy all the time. But a bad review is only there to shape you for your future clients.” You’re not always going to get a 100% positive feedback, but every feedback exists to boost your morale or to make you an even better photographer or business person.
