Who Is Behind The Artists’ Shire?
My Story
Hello readers, my name is Clement Eastwood and before anything else, I’m a Christian, then I’m a photographer, a Podcaster and an Author, in that sequence. Also, I run a twitter platform for the artists’ shire where I teach photographers branding and marketing. So that is what I do in general.
How I Became a Photographer (Summary)
After failing my final exam in high school four times, I stopped writing. I couldn’t. It was a pain to see my friends, all of them graduate and go to the university. It’s not too late to go to the university right now, I’m 24, and I could go re-write my papers, but that has stopped being my focus.
After failing four times, I got a job as a teacher in a little school outside of the neighbourhood with a salary that couldn’t last anyone a week. After some time, I quit and got into a different teaching job. I loved this job, i love to teach but then before the term ended, I was fired by the principal. Once again, I was jobless. I switched jobs five times until I met a man named Frank who was the photographer in the church we both used to worship at.
I reached out to him and asked him to teach me. He gave me a couple of tutorial and made me try the camera one night and said I was a natural. This made me smile, and I was happy. Later in that same year (2017 December) I got my first camera. And I was officially a photographer.
Why Podcasting And Publishing?
I did not think ever, not once in my life, to record myself for others to listen. I also did not imagine myself ever writing and publishing books, even though my English teachers, both in senior and junior high school, praised me for my articles.
In the Christian community, I noticed one thing which was quite consistent. Every preacher I had heard of had a podcast and had books. I was, like, amazing. These men are speakers who taught or teach the Bible, and their recorded sermons are uploaded on podcasts, including interviews. I thought, great! I should do that too. So, the first thing I did was that I published my first book, which failed miserably because no one bought it, and again, the English in there was bad! Because of the things I perceived around me, I thought, “why not do the same thing?”
I started a podcast not long after that with my Samsung S9 which I still use today and it’s been a long time coming. I started a YouTube channel myself. Please do tap on the link to have access and if you do find my articles insightful, I bet you will love my YouTube as well.
This is basically me in a summary. What you notice in this story is how many times I’ve failed and I keep failing. There have been times where I wanted to give up, but I wait it out. Keep failing. Fail forward. This is how you learn, and this is how you progress.
